I may be 45 but once I was 21 and nuts about Nirvana. At 45 I still remember how amazing I found their music, so full of drive, energy and passion.
Now as I've got older I still go to a lot of gigs, and one band I've seen several times are a Nirvana covers band with a difference - fronted by an Elvis impersonator from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne it really couldn't get any more bizarre.
But Elvana are amazing. Honestly. The most raucous crowd surfing and mentalist mosh pit I've been in for years. So good I went back for more.
The last time I watched them I noticed that the Elvis frontman was wearing a big silver Saint Christopher and I drunkenly warbled to my friend 'I want to make him a St Christopher with the Elvana logo on it!'
So in my sobriety I got in touch with them, said I'd like to to it just for the fun of it, and they said 'hell yes!" and this is a short vid about how it went down. I'm now debating making them an official one they can sell on their merch store...stay tunes for deets!
Follow them on Facebook and if you've not seen them - do it!
