3. Antiparos: A Hidden Gem Waiting to Be Discovered
Just a short ferry ride from Paros lies Antiparos, a hidden gem beloved by travellers seeking tranquillity and authenticity. Just a 5-minute ferry ride from the mainland (which you can also take your car or bike on), Antiparos is easily accessible.
Explore the cobblestone streets of the main town, dotted with whitewashed houses, cafes, boutiques and restaurants, adorned with vibrant bougainvillea. Antiparos offers a much more relaxed and local atmosphere than its more famous neighbour.

Spend your days relaxing on the sandy beach and dine in one of the traditional tavernas which have tables actually on the beach itself. The small port is as picturesque as it gets and visiting Piso Livadhi is well worth the drive!
While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to dine on delicious fresh Greek food at Markakis Restaurant. Walk over the hill to the beach of Logaras to lounge on the beach or enjoy another Freddo Espresso.
Did you know that the island of Paros is made of crystal quartz? Yes, that’s right! There are quartz mines on this island. This means that many of the beaches are covered in beautiful crystals you can collect and Logaras is one of those beaches. What at first looks like regular stones, but on closer inspection you will realise the beach is covered in crystals and gems. Even more reason to visit this beautiful and off-the-beaten-path part of Paros.

Where to Stay
The best place to stay depends on your preferences. Parikia and Naoussa offer a vibrant nightlife scene and a plethora of restaurants and shops. There are many accommodation options at these locations, ranging from budget to luxury so these are both great options for exploring the rest of the island. If you are interested in having a more relaxing seaside experience, Piso Livadi and Aliki are perfect! These areas offer more unique and luxurious accommodations in the beautiful Cycladic villas. Out of all the towns mentioned, Lefkes is the one we wouldn’t necessarily recommend staying in, this one is better for a day trip.
Getting Around
Getting around Paros is easy, with regular bus services connecting the main towns and villages during the summer season, as well as car and scooter rentals for independent exploration. Renting a car or quad bike is the most flexible option. Taxis are also available but they aren’t cheap.
We recommend hiring a car so that you can explore the island freely. You can pick the car up directly at the port or airport on arrival. Our car rental recommendation is locally owned Sardis Rentals. They have the best prices and also the best customer service.
Getting There
Paros is easily accessible by ferry from Athens (Piraeus port) or other Cycladic islands such as Santorini and Naxos. Several airlines offer direct flights to Paros National Airport throughout the year. The price between flights and ferries is similar so you can decide which option works best for you.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Paros is during the European summer, from April to October with April-May and September-October being the shoulder season. During the winter many businesses close and the weather can become more wild so it is not a great time to go. July and August are extremely hot, busy and expensive so these months should also be avoided if you don’t like crowds and heat. May to June and September are the best months to go.
